The WHX Dubai was a great success for us. We had the pleasure of reconnecting with long-standing partners, meeting new contacts, and discussing concrete projects with real potential. The atmosphere was open, focused, and partnership-driven — exactly the kind of dialogue that moves business forward.

We returned from Dubai energized and inspired.

And then — quite literally the next day — one member of our CEO-team swapped his business suit for a hand-carved wooden mas and a colourful costume.

Why?

Because back home in Tuttlingen — internationally known as a center of surgical instrument manufacturing — our region entered its most traditional season: the Swabian-Alemannic Carnival.

The Swabian-Alemannic Carnival (locally called Fasnet) is a centuries-old tradition in southwestern Germany. It is not a party carnival, but a cultural heritage event built on craftsmanship and community spirit.

Participants wear a traditional costume called a “Häs,” often handmade and rich in detail. The wooden masks are individually carved, sometimes maintained and passed down for generations. Historically, carnival allowed communities to symbolically “drive out winter” and briefly step outside everyday roles.
